Earth Day marks the moment when stakeholders of all backgrounds come together to advance awareness and action on climate change whilst encouraging a sustainable future for our planet. This year, Earth Day falls on Saturday 22nd April 2023.
The theme for 2023 is #InvestInOurPlanet, and there are multiple initiatives and activities that we can all take part in to help make our planet a healthier and more prosperous place to live. From planting trees to offset carbon emissions, signing petitions and treaties demanding positive action, through to supporting sustainable fashion and reducing plastic consumption, there is something for everyone to get involved with.
This year, in support of EarthDay.org, we will be taking part in a Community Clean Up Event with the help of Smarten Up Hungerford, who have kindly loaned us some litter picking kits. The event will take place at 12pm on Wednesday 26th April 2023 around Charnham Park (meet at Universal Networks first) and we hope to encourage local businesses and individuals to join us and rally behind the theme #InvestInOurPlanet. We aim to meet at Universal Networks, Charnham Lane, RG17 0EY, before heading over to Charnham Park to begin the event.

Don’t underestimate your power, even the smallest of actions can make a huge impact. When your voice and actions are united with millions of others around the world, we can create an inclusive and impactful movement that is impossible to ignore.
It is also important to remember, that while Earth Day provides a specific point when people can come together, taking action and dedicating time to solving climate change and other environmental issues is a powerful movement that we can all be a part of every single day. A more sustainable planet starts with all of us.
