And it’s a wrap! IBC is over for another year, and we enjoyed our time there, meeting up with existing clients and meeting some new faces too.
IBC is arguably the most important event in the broadcasting calendar with over 1,700 exhibitors, 300 speakers and 15 exhibition halls and it certainly didn’t disappoint! We were impressed by the number of striking stands, cutting edge technologies and ideas for the future.
The Sony Europe stand in particular caught our eye, with stunning visual live displays. It was great to see how our fibre optic cables are supporting these live displays and to get a detailed demonstration of their technology.
We also met up with our client Sematron, experts in monitoring and streaming broadcast contribution over IP networks and multichannel distribution. They gave us a comprehensive product demonstration and tour of their satellite comms truck, which was a real hit with attendees.
The broadcasting industry is an important one for us, particularly for our ranges of deployable fibre and copper cabling – ArmourLux and PROCAT, which are popular with clients involved in all areas of the industry. It’s imperative for us to keep abreast of the latest technologies and trends, as this helps drive our product development. Bespoke fibre and copper assemblies are a particular area of growth for us, with clients needing something that isn’t just ‘off-the-shelf’ and from our conversations at IBC, this is set to continue.
We’re already looking forward to IBC 2020 – see you there!
