Harvesting Hope: Nourishing Communities and Cultivating Conservation in 2024

Here at Universal Networks, we like to use this time to contemplate the ways in which we, alongside our customers, can contribute positively to the world. Partnering with B1G1 gives us a platform through which can collectively make a real difference in the lives of those less fortunate than us. This month, we have selected two amazing causes:

Providing meals in the world

Despite being considered a fundamental human right, 1 in 9 people worldwide still grapple with hunger. Our dedicated support to this project aims to bridge this gap by providing nutritious meals to individuals in need across the globe, including Africa, Asia and North America. Your partnership with us is not just a financial exchange; it’s a direct contribution to nourishing lives and spreading hope. Together, we are helping to make strides in the fight against hunger and the movement towards a world where no one goes to bed hungry.

Providing education for children in rainforest conservation

This project aims to nurture young environmental stewards in Indonesian Borneo’s rainforest. Driven by Health In Harmony, the project provides children with a unique opportunity to learn about the vital role of preserving their local rainforest. Through 20 engaging training sessions, students not only gain a comprehensive understanding of the rainforest’s connection to human health but also embark on field trips, cultivating a personal bond with the forest crucial to their community and the world. The program instils a sense of Planetary Health leadership, covering topics from nutritious eating and wildlife conservation to sustainable living.

We passionately believe that education is the key to unlocking the knowledge, power and opportunity required to foster positive and lasting change. By empowering the next generation, we can nurture lifelong advocates for Planetary Health, with the ripple effect extending to families and even prompting positive shifts in local practices such as logging cessation and embracing eco-friendly habits.
