THE CHALLENGE

Ensuring real-time communication at high-profile, live motorsport events is no small feat. With far-reaching, international audiences, every decision made comes under intense scrutiny. For race control, maintaining a clear and constant connection to the track-side action is critical. From operational command centres to marshal posts and trackside cameras, the entire operation depends on fast, reliable data to monitor the action, uphold safety standards, and ensure decisions are made swiftly and fairly.

For this project, we were tasked with delivering a temporary, reusable cable infrastructure capable of handling the data, video, and audio demands of high-stakes racing. Our solution enabled Global Event Technology (GET) to confidently deploy their systems across multiple racing circuits worldwide, supporting seamless visibility and real-time incident response.

THE SOLUTION

To meet the demands of this high-pressure environment, we delivered a robust trackside infrastructure built around Neutrik OpticalCON QUAD fibre cables. These rugged, high-performance fibre assemblies formed the backbone of the network, chosen for their durability and reliability under the challenging conditions of a live motorsport event.

Neutrik OpticalCON QUAD was selected as the preferred fibre connectivity solution by GET, offering exceptional performance in a compact and deployable format. However, to ensure seamless integration with the existing trackside infrastructure, we also supplied standard rugged LC connectors as breakout adapters, enabling effortless connectivity to the pre-installed fibre systems on-site.

Beyond connectivity, the choice of cable itself was critical. We provided tactical fibre cable engineered specifically for repeated deployment. Designed to endure the demanding nature of temporary race infrastructure, this fibre was not only highly crush-resistant but also remarkably flexible and compact, making it easy to transport and deploy without compromising durability. The ability to withstand repeated handling and extreme conditions ensured that GET’s network remained resilient throughout every race weekend.

The fibre network connected a series of high-performance racks, housing network switches, servers, and UPS systems — all designed to deliver seamless connectivity and power continuity. This infrastructure fed directly into race control’s screen walls and operational desks, enabling the real-time transmission of data and video essential for monitoring the race and responding to incidents as they unfold.
