While DVD 2026 may be over, the conversations it started are continuing.

For those who couldn’t attend, or visitors wanting a closer look at what we showcased, we’ve created an interactive virtual tour of our stand. Explore the deployable connectivity solutions, defence applications and technologies that generated the most interest throughout the event, and discover how robust communications infrastructure is helping support modern defence capabilities.

Take a Tour of Our Stand

From deployable fibre optic infrastructure and harsh-environment connectivity to high-performance networking technologies, our stand showcased solutions designed to keep critical systems connected in demanding operational environments.

The solutions featured support a wide range of defence applications, including deployable communications, mission-critical networks, UAVs, autonomous systems and infrastructure operating in harsh environments. Use the interactive hotspots to learn more about each solution, its applications and the challenges it helps solve.

Supporting Defence Innovation Through Connectivity

A key theme throughout DVD 2026 was the need to connect people, systems and technologies more effectively across the defence landscape. As defence platforms become increasingly data-driven and interconnected, resilient communications infrastructure plays a vital role in enabling operational capability.

Whether supporting deployable communications, mission-critical networks or emerging technologies, reliable connectivity provides the foundation for effective decision-making and information sharing. This is where solutions such as deployable fibre optic infrastructure, expanded beam connectivity, ruggedised networking equipment and tactical communications systems can play an important role, helping organisations maintain secure, reliable communications in challenging environments.

This extends to evolving applications such as autonomous systems, UAVs, drones and tethered drone technologies, where secure, reliable and high-bandwidth connectivity is critical for data transfer, communications and situational awareness.

What Generated the Most Interest?

One of the technologies that generated the most discussion on our stand was our ruggedised Reel Mounted Switch solution.

Designed to integrate fibre and copper connectivity within a single deployable reel, the solution helps simplify network deployment in environments where rapid setup, mobility and reliability are critical. By combining multiple networking functions into a compact, deployable platform, it enables users to extend communications over longer distances while reducing the complexity typically associated with field deployments.

Visitors were particularly interested in how the solution supports secure, high-bandwidth data transmission while maintaining the resilience required for defence and other mission-critical applications. The ability to create flexible network architectures using both fibre and copper infrastructure also resonated strongly with organisations looking to support increasingly connected and data-intensive operations.

The strong interest in this solution reinforced a recurring theme throughout DVD 2026: reliable, deployable network infrastructure remains fundamental to operational effectiveness, regardless of how advanced the systems it supports become.

For more information about this solution and its capabilities, please get in touch with our team. We’d be happy to discuss your requirements and provide further details.

Let’s Continue the Conversation

Whether you visited us at DVD 2026 or are exploring our virtual stand for the first time, we’d be delighted to discuss your requirements.

If you’d like to learn more about any of the solutions featured on our stand, or explore how Universal Networks can support your project, please get in touch with our team. You can also explore our Defence & Military capabilities here.

We look forward to continuing the conversations started at DVD and helping organisations build reliable, resilient communications networks for the future.
